Navigation Preparation 2020

Year after year, at the beginning of spring MultiFracht starts to prepare its berth located in Bor (a town adjacent to Nizhny Novgorod) on the Volga river for the receipt of goods, to arrange its equipment, to enter into contracts for the use of berthing facilities with customers, and to charter the fleet.
MultiFracht’s berth is probably one of a few operating berths suitable for handling various types of cargoes: metals, glass, cargoes shipped in big bags and cases, equipment. The berth is equipped with a special container loading facility.
MultiFracht specialists expect that in 2020 the company will handle at least 60,000 tons of metal products (steel sheets, coils) for such big brands as Borsky Pipe Plant, Severstal, OMK, and Mechel. This figure is almost 15-20% higher than the one of the previous navigation statistics.
According to MultiFracht experts, this increase is due to the fact that, when properly organized, the river transport can overcome many “bottle necks” inherent to the railway logistics. In particular, the river transport is suitable for handling large-sized consignments, for accumulating and storing goods, and has nothing to do with the demurrage problem.
